WHY THIS PROGRAMME?

At the end of the training, we don’t ask: “Are your customers satisfied?”
We ask: “Would they choose you again if they had a choice?”

Most service failures are not rudeness. They are a promise nobody wrote down, a handover nobody owned, and a complaint that went into a log and no further.

◎

Know what good looks like

Service standards specific enough to be met, measured and trained for — and realistic on the busiest day of the month.

✧

Win back the ones you nearly lost

A complaint put right properly leaves people more loyal than if nothing had gone wrong in the first place.

THE VANTAGE DIFFERENCE

We train people to fix it — not to apologise for it.

Training people to be friendlier does not survive a bad month. What survives is a standard everyone knows, a journey without gaps in it, and a way of putting things right that nobody has to ask permission to use.

✕WHAT WE AVOID

  • Service taught as scripts and smiling
  • Complaints logged, counted and left there
  • Standards nobody could meet on a busy day

✓WHAT WE DO

  • A journey map showing where people actually give up
  • Standards written for the busiest day, not the quietest
  • A recovery process the front line can use without asking
THE 14-TOPIC JOURNEY

14 practical topics. Customers who come back.

The pathway is designed around what you will be able to do. You begin guided virtual learning as soon as you register, then build on it during three practical days in Nairobi, 29–31 March 2027.

6 Topics

VIRTUAL · START IMMEDIATELY

Expectations, standards, the journey and how satisfaction is measured.

8 Topics

PHYSICAL · 29–31 MARCH 2027

Three focused days on difficult clients, recovery, pressure and improvement, in Nairobi.

01 Register & start learning 02 6 virtual topics 03 8 physical topics · 29–31 Mar 04 Build & defend your plan

Proposed allocation: topics 1–6 are guided online and cover expectations, standards and the journey; topics 7–14 are worked through during the three physical days, where the difficult conversations are practised rather than described.

YOUR PRACTICAL OUTCOMES

By the end of the training, this is what you will be able to do.

Explore each topic below. The real test is whether it holds up on the day everything is going wrong.

A CERTIFICATE HAS TO MEAN SOMETHING

How do we know customers would feel the difference?

A service that works on a quiet Tuesday is not the same as one that holds on the worst day of the month. What gets checked here is whether the standard is specific enough to be met under pressure, whether the journey map matches what customers really experience, and whether the recovery process works in the hands of somebody who already has six other things to do.

Join the 14-topic pathway →
1
Map a journey you actually run

One real service, from first contact through to resolution.

2
Find where it breaks

The handovers, the waits, and the point where people give up and go elsewhere.

3
Write the standard

Specific enough to measure, realistic enough for the busiest day of the month.

4
Handle a real complaint

Role-played with peers who have no reason to go easy on you.

5
Set the measures

What you will track, how often, and who looks at it when it moves.

WHAT YOU TAKE BACK TO WORK

Take back a service worth talking about.

The reference material comes with the programme. The thing worth carrying home is your own service taken apart and put back together — the journey mapped, the standard written and the recovery process tested on peers before a real customer ever meets it.

Customer journey map with its failure points marked
Service standards for each channel you use
Complaint handling and escalation process
Service recovery playbook the front line can use
Satisfaction survey and a scoring approach

WHO THIS IS ACTUALLY FOR
✦ IT STARTS UPSTREAM

Bad service is rarely the fault of the person delivering it.

It is usually the process behind them. A form finance has not processed. An approval sitting in somebody’s queue. A policy that makes the reasonable answer the one nobody is allowed to give. Whoever happens to meet the customer inherits all of it and has about thirty seconds to account for it — which is why sending only that person on the training changes so little.

See the 14 topics →
Who should be in the room

Send the chain, not the counter.

The people who answer the customer, the people whose delay they are explaining, and the supervisor who sets the standard between them. Journey mapping only works when all three are mapping the same journey — and it is usually the first time they have seen it end to end.

Internal service between departments gets a topic of its own.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Everything clear before you decide.

What makes this different from other customer service courses?

The programme is built around practical work rather than attendance. You map a journey your organisation really runs, write the standard, and handle difficult conversations in front of peers rather than reading about them.

Do I have to work through all 14 topics?

Yes. The pathway covers all 14 topics, 6 guided online and 8 in the room, subject to the programme’s formal assessment decisions.

How are the online and physical topics taught?

The first 6 are introduced through guided online work before the workshop and cover expectations, standards and the journey. The remaining 8 form the focus of the three physical days in Nairobi, where the difficult parts are practised with a facilitator in the room.

Does the $80 count toward the total fee?

Yes. Under the standard-fee pathway, the $80 initial payment counts toward $580 and leaves $500 payable. The $480 offer is for early full payment, not the instalment plan.

When and where exactly is the physical training?

The programme is planned for Nairobi, Kenya on 29–31 March 2027. The exact venue will be confirmed by the Vantage Africa team before a final booking commitment.

Is this only for front-line staff?

No, and sending only the front line is part of the problem. Supervisors, back-office and support teams shape the experience customers receive without ever meeting them.

Does it cover internal service between departments?

Yes. One topic is given to it directly, and the journey mapping exercise usually exposes it whether you set out to look at it or not.

Can my organisation sponsor me or request a group course?

Yes. Contact Vantage Africa for an invitation letter, invoice or a tailored in-house proposal.
