WHY THIS PROGRAMME?

At the end of the training, we don’t ask: “Do you have a strategic plan?”
We ask: “Is any of it actually happening?”

Organisations invest heavily in formulating strategy and then lose momentum: priorities are never cascaded, ownership stays diffused, and review meetings fill up with activity instead of results.

◎

From the boardroom to a desk

A small number of priorities that travel down to a department, a team, and finally one person who knows which part is theirs.

Review results, not activity

Meetings that ask what moved and what will be done about it, rather than what everybody has been busy with.

THE VANTAGE DIFFERENCE

We turn the plan into next quarter’s work.

A priority with nobody’s name on it, no number to move and no date to be reviewed is just a sentence in a document. This programme is about everything that turns it into work.

✕WHAT WE AVOID

  • Strategy days that end with a document and a photograph
  • Priorities that stop at the senior management team
  • Reviews that report activity and call it progress

✓WHAT WE DO

  • A small number of choices, made deliberately
  • Priorities cascaded to people by name
  • Reviews that ask what moved
THE 12-TOPIC JOURNEY

12 practical topics. A plan that gets delivered.

The pathway is designed around what you will be able to do. You begin guided virtual learning as soon as you register, then build on it during three practical days in Nairobi, 10–12 May 2027.

5 Topics

VIRTUAL · START IMMEDIATELY

The situation, the problem, the choices and how they reach a named person.

7 Topics

PHYSICAL · 10–12 MAY 2027

Three focused days on scorecards, budgets, governance and the review rhythm, in Nairobi.

01 Register & start learning 02 5 virtual topics 03 7 physical topics · 10–12 May 04 Build & defend your plan

Proposed allocation: topics 1–5 are guided online and cover the analysis and the choices; topics 6–12 are worked through during the three physical days, on your own organisation’s strategy, with a facilitator beside you.

YOUR PRACTICAL OUTCOMES

By the end of the training, this is what you will be able to do.

Explore each topic below. The real test is whether anything is different two quarters from now.

A CERTIFICATE HAS TO MEAN SOMETHING

How do we know the plan will survive the year?

Plans fail quietly, between the launch and the first review. What gets checked here is whether every priority has a named owner, whether each one carries a measure that would actually move, and whether the review calendar exists before anybody leaves the room.

1
Start from a real mandate

Your organisation’s actual strategy or plan, not a case study.

2
Make the choices

A small number of priorities — and what you are deliberately not doing.

3
Cascade it

To departments, to teams and to named people, with a measure attached to each.

4
Resource it

Budget and people against every priority, or it was never a priority.

5
Set the review rhythm

Who meets, how often, and the decision each meeting has to produce.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

A finished plan, and the skill to run the next cycle.

The reference material comes with the programme. The thing worth carrying home is your own strategy taken the rest of the way — mapped, cascaded, costed and scheduled, with the review calendar already filled in.

Situation and stakeholder analysis
A one-page strategy execution map
A departmental cascade down to named owners
A strategic KPI scorecard
Resources and budget aligned to each priority
A governance and review calendar
A risk and assumptions register for the plan
Your organisation’s own execution plan — built during training

WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR
✦ BRING THE PLAN YOU ALREADY HAVE

Most organisations do not need a new strategy. They need the one they have to happen.

You have probably already done the hard thinking: the retreat, the facilitator, the document the board approved. What almost never gets built is everything underneath it — priorities carried down to named owners, measures that move, budget behind each one, and a review that actually happens. That is what these three days build, on the plan you already have.

What you get

The plan you have, made to work.

Priorities with owners against them. Measures that would actually move. Budget behind each one. A review calendar with real dates. Built here, on your own strategy, rather than described.

Bring your current strategic plan. Most participants do.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Everything clear before you decide.

What makes this different from other strategy courses?

The programme is built around practical work rather than attendance. You work on your own organisation’s strategy and leave with it cascaded, costed and scheduled rather than with notes on how strategy works.

Do I have to work through all 12 topics?

Yes. The pathway covers all 12 topics, 5 guided online and 7 in the room, subject to the programme’s formal assessment decisions.

How are the online and physical topics taught?

The first 5 are introduced through guided online work before the workshop and cover the analysis and the choices. The remaining 7 form the focus of the three physical days in Nairobi, spent building the cascade, the scorecard and the review calendar.

Does the $80 count toward the total fee?

Yes. Under the standard-fee pathway, the $80 initial payment counts toward $580 and leaves $500 payable. The $480 offer is for early full payment, not the instalment plan.

When and where exactly is the physical training?

The programme is planned for Nairobi, Kenya on 10–12 May 2027. The exact venue will be confirmed by the Vantage Africa team before a final booking commitment.

How is this different from Strategic Leadership & Development?

That programme develops the leader: judgement, influence and how you carry a team. This one builds the machinery: the cascade, the scorecard, the budget and the review rhythm that make a strategy happen. They overlap by design and many organisations send people to both.

Do we need an existing strategy to attend?

It helps, and most participants bring one. If yours is still being written, bring the mandate or the draft — the choices topic is where a lot of plans get sharper.

Can my organisation sponsor me or request a group course?

Yes. Contact Vantage Africa for an invitation letter, invoice or a tailored in-house proposal.
