Patrick Muriuki is a distinguished Senior Consultant in International Development with over three decades of expertise in Business Development and ICT Consultancy across East and West Africa. Currently serving as Technical Director at Agricultural Concepts International Limited, his career spans leadership roles in prominent international organizations and financial institutions.
At the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Inc., Mr. Muriuki held several senior positions including Program Manager and Kenya Country Coordinator, Chief of Party/Project Director, Deputy Project Director/ICT Specialist, and Senior Information Systems Technical Advisor. His earlier roles include Project Manager at the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Banking Support Consultant at Fintech Group, ICT Manager at Kenya Institute of Management, and Network Systems Administrator at Best Foods Kenya Limited (Unilever).
Mr. Muriuki led significant initiatives including conducting an impact study on the SACCO Societies Regulatory Framework and developing Credit Union Regulations for Liberia Central Bank in 2015. In 2018, he created the Software Evaluation Framework for Uganda Savings and Credit Cooperative Union. As Country Lead for WOCCU programs, he managed projects funded by USAID, United Nations, FSD Kenya, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Kenya and Liberia. His recent accomplishments include spearheading the development of a new Worker Cooperative Strategy for FSD Kenya and the innovative Fundi Flex mobile loan product for Pezesha, designed for construction workers. He also provided expertise at the State Department of Cooperative Development Workshop in 2022.
His extensive international experience includes assignments across multiple continents, with work in the United States, Netherlands, Dubai, and various African nations including Malawi, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Egypt, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, Liberia, and South Africa
